Images of the circuit model for a patient with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and of strain tracking data for a heterogenous collagen gel.

We are currently seeking Graduate Researchers starting Spring 2023 or Fall 2024. Current projects in the lab involve quantifying the structural and mechanical effects of early remodeling following heart attack, creating computers model of heart and pulmonary artery growth in infants with congenital heart defects, and analyzing invasive data from a large-animal model of aortic coarctation. Come join our team! Interested candidates should email Dr. Witzenburg (witzenburg@wisc.edu) and attach a resume.

We are also seeking Undergraduate Researchers starting their 2nd or 3rd year of their B.S. degree at UW-Madison to assist with projects quantifying the mechanics and structure of cardiovascular soft tissues and tissue analogs. Researchers will shadow lab members and attend lab meetings and then begin on independent projects. Interested candidates should email Dr. Witzenburg (witzenburg@wisc.edu) and attach a resume.
