Opportunities

We are currently seeking Graduate Researchers starting Fall 2025!

Current projects in the lab involve:

  • developing a structure-informed nonlinear anisotropic inverse mechanics method,
  • quantifying the structural and mechanical effects of remodeling on aortic valve leaflets,
  • and creating computer models of heart and pulmonary artery growth in infants with congenital heart defects.

Interested candidates should email Dr. Witzenburg (witzenburg@wisc.edu) and attach a CV.

We are a group of curious and  motivated individuals with interests in:

•   Computational modeling
•   Biomechanics
•   Bioengineering
•   Tissue Characterization
•   Cardiovascular Physiology
•   Mechanical Testing
